RULE AND BOSTON CAMERA MERGER FAQ'S
QUESTION: I'm a customer of both Rule and Boston Camera. Who should I call for my usual order now that you've merged?
ANSWER: It's business-as-usual until we move into one space together, so, if you normally rent some equipment from both of us for the same job, please continue to do so. Our telephone numbers, addresses and websites will stay the same for now.
If it's easier for you to make one call to place your order, that's fine, too. Even though we are temporarily in separate locations, we are still one company with a shared inventory.
We also increased our back-and-forth deliveries between our Watertown and Brighton locations, so it's not a problem for you to pick up at one location and drop off at another.
QUESTION: I've had a long-term relationship with certain Rental Agents (or Engineers, or Sales Reps) at Rule and Boston Camera. Can I still maintain these connections?
ANSWER: Absolutely! We would be disappointed if we couldn't maintain and continue to build these relationships with you. They're important to us, too. You'll still be in contact with the same folks in Rentals, Sales or Engineering - even after we're together under one roof.
QUESTION: So, how will this merger work if you are both in different locations? What are the benefits?
ANSWER: We are officially one company, although we'll maintain our current locations (plus individual phone, fax and urls) until we move.
Right now, some of the advantages we can offer include:
- A shared inventory so you can access equipment from either Rule or Boston Camera's large and expanding selections
- Shared resources. By pooling staff, we now have experts in both film and video disciplines equipped to help you make the best equipment choices for your latest project, whether its Rentals or Sales
And speaking of Sales, we've been very busy this past year, and we've made a lot of progress. We're excited about our new partnerships with Panasonic, Apple and Avid, in addition to our long-term relationship with Sony. As dealers, we're now better-equipped to help our clients buy gear that fits into any workflow scenario.
With an expanding array of options in Rentals and Sales, our technology experts are hard at work testing production and post-production equipment in order to create and integrate workflows that make the most sense for your project.
QUESTION: What are your plans for moving into one space? And when? And where?
ANSWER: We're really looking forward to being together in one space. We're carefully selecting the right location - one with easy access to major roads, plenty of parking, convenient to public transportation, and with an overall comfortable space for clients to pick-up, drop-off, test or demo their Rental or Sales equipment.
Our goal is to move into our new home by the end of the summer, if not sooner. We'll keep you posted on the location, and our building-and-design plans, as we get closer. Be sure to check our websites' MERGER NEWS sections for frequent updates.
QUESTION: Will rental prices change?
ANSWER: You'll see on our websites and when you call our Rental Agents, that we now have the same pricing for all our rental equipment.
